We'd LOVE to see your entries for our forthcoming galleries in Scrap365! Here are some themes we have running in the coming months:

Britain's Great! - A celebration of all things British, as it's our Queen's Jubilee this year and we have the Olympics too.
Wallet-sized photos - Create a project with these dinky little lovelies.
All Things Inky - Any kind of ink will do; just get creative with those inkpads (inky doesn't have to mean grungy either - we'd love to see your 'clean' pages using inks).

HOW TO GET INVOLVED:
1 Make a project matching the theme.
2 Email the Editor with a picture of your (unpublished, including on blogs and online galleries) take on the theme. Include a list of materials and a 'quote' telling us about your submission.
3 Use the email header 'Scrap365 Gallery - [gallery name here]' when you submit.
THIS CALL CLOSES: 29th February 2012

- If you are selected you will be asked to send your project to us by post (it will be returned to you after publication). You will also have to supply a materials list and short piece of writing about your project.
- Please try to use recent papers/products on your project where possible.
- Your project does not have to be a layout, it can be off the page, home decor or a gift make (but no cards please).
- Digi submissions welcome.
- Overseas submissions welcome (but please note ref. posting).
- You will be sent a free of charge copy of the magazine in which you are published.
- Please be aware that we had a huge response to our last call and not everyone can be selected but we do appreciate seeing all of your lovely entries. We will reply to everyone who submits but please be patient as this could take several weeks.

Traplet Publications is seeking a freelance photographer to work flexible hours on Scrap365 and Craft Stamper magazines. We envisage we will require a minimum of 15 hours per week of work, during office hours (Mon-Thurs 9am-5.30pm, Friday 9am-4pm) on a flexible basis.

Experience in photographing craft items and an interest in arts and crafts are essential - please do not send your CV unless you meet these two criteria. The photographer must also live within easy commuting distance of Traplet Publications offices, located in Malvern, Worcestershire.

If you are interested please send a CV and covering letter stating your experience and suitability for the job to scrap365@traplet.com. Potentially suitable candidates will be asked to come into the offices for interview and to complete a practical test.

You will have noticed that unlike other magazines we don’t have a reader’s gallery; this is because we want our readers to be involved in the magazine proper rather than sidelined. With this in mind we are looking for readers who would like to make a guest appearance in any of the following features:

-Themed Gallery (see ‘Tis the Season p.27 in this issue for example)

-Photo Focus (see p.37)

-Scrap the Small Stuff (see p.34)

If you’d like to take part please email a couple of examples of your work to scrap365@traplet.com (or alternatively send blog links to your fave projects) for our consideration.

SMALL PRINT: We regret that no payment is made for reader contributions to the magazine although you will receive a copy of the magazine in which you feature. Front cover

Thought you'd like a looksie at the front cover of issue one (see previous post for how to get your mitts on this issue). Although it's not a seasonal cover (we have decided not to go strongly seasonally themed with the magazine) those who love all things Christmassy will find layouts, an off the page project and a mini album with a festive feel :). We'll have lots of regular features covering all sorts of things from colour combinations, to storage, using up scraps and digi techniques.

Congrats to Mahlin Wiggur for being our cover girl this issue :).

Getting your hands on our first issue!

Hi peeps,
The first issue of Scrap365 is due back from the printer tomorrow - we are so excited and we can't wait for you to see it!

Unfortunately however we've had a bit of bad news - for reasons beyond our control, the first issue won’t be going in to WH Smiths. To say that we are deeply disappointed about this is something of an understatement, but...

...the good news is there are still plenty of ways to get hold of your copy!

1 Get your copy direct from us p&p free (for UK customers).As the magazine is not going to be in Smith's we are offering you the chance to get a copy sent direct to your door and pay only what you would in store. Buy it directly from us for the cover price of £4.50 (UK only) - no p&p to pay. Go here to pre-order your copy. Order before 11th November to ensure it’s with you for the official on-sale date of 18th November! (Non-UK customers can also order direct but postage/pricing differences will apply.)

2 Get it from your local scrapbook store.
Scrap365 will be on sale in over 200 craft shops around the UK, as well as loads of independent newsagents. We’re just putting the final touches to our website at the moment, which will feature a list of craft shop stockists so you can check where your nearest stockist is! It will also be available in selected overseas stores. I'll post again when this list is live.

3 Ask a newsagent to order it for you.
Ask in your local branch of WH Smith or at your local newsagent, and they should order it in for you.

4 Buy the first issue at the Hobbycrafts show.
Issue one will be on sale at the show at the NEC, Birmingham on 3-6 November.

Hobbycrafts Show Surprise!!!

Another sneaky peek, this time of a very classy layout by Louise Nelson. This article is the first in a series we are calling 'In with the Old' which looks at creative ways to use up old or dated stash. Ideal in the current economic climate right? I was a bit worried about asking the DT to make beautiful pages using horrible old stash they've had languishing for years but I should have had more faith! Both this and the article for issue 2 are really inspirational I think!

Hello peeps,
I don't think I introduced myself on the blog yet, although you've met the DT you've not met me! I'm the Editor of Scrap365 (and also of Craft Stamper), I've been scrapping for about 6 or 7 years. Although I do love to rubber stamp, scrapbooking was my first crafty love (though I dabbled in many others previously).

So I thought I'd share a little scrappy project with you today. (Please excuse the crappy late night iPhone photo!)

It's a travel journal I made for my latest trip to Orlando. At the moment there are no photos inside but the pages are full of journaling in my own scruffy hand and the envelope pockets are stuffed with leaflets, ticket stubs and more: mementos of our holiday. The papers are Echo Park Happy Days - love them!

This project kind of shows my style of scrapping - pretty much clean and simple. It has to be said that I have a perverse way of bucking the usual trends! While everyone else is using as many embellies as they can fit on a page, I am paring it down to the basics. Obviously this project had to be flat for transporting to and fro so it's just paper and stickers. What this project doesn't show is that I usually love to use inks and stamps on my pages, combining my love of stamping with scrapping.

I live in Malvern (where the magazine's publishers Traplet are based) with my partner and very spoiled pet pooch (subject of most of my scrap pages). I am obsessed with Disney (subject of the rest of my scrap pages!), I collect Dutch ceramics, and I love to read crime books.

I am very excited about Scrap365! I've worked hard to find contributors I personally find inspiring, and I hope you will too :).

Countdown to the new mag print date is well under way and I can presently be found running around the office like a headless chicken! Will all be worth it but there might well be some sleepless nights between now and then I am sure. The visual style is coming together really nicely now and some cracking projects have been landing on my desk :). Hi! My names Jules and I'm tasked with designing the new magazine Scrap365. I'm working closely with Katy Fox, the editor, to make sure the look and style of the magazine pages do justice to the contents and having seen the quality of the contributors' work for the first issue - it's no mean feat! So far I've been enjoying coming up with hand-drawn elements which can be transformed into digital elements to be used in the magazine (you can do a lot with a Sharpie!).
